Handlung
Steve (Anthony Mackie) und Dennis (Jamie Dornan) sind beste Freunde und arbeiten gemeinsam als Rettungssanitäter in New Orleans. Mit der Zeit häufen sich seltsame und äußerst grausame Unfälle, und sie vermuten, dass eine experimentelle Designerdroge namens „Synchronic“ dahinterstecken könnte, die mit paranormalen Nebenwirkungen einhergeht und an einem der Schauplätze gefunden wurde. Plötzlich kehrt Dennis' älteste Tochter nicht von einer Party zurück und es beginnt ein Wettlauf gegen die Zeit. Für Steve steht fest, dass dieses Psychopharmaka alles in den Schatten stellt, was die beiden über die Realität und den Lauf der Zeit zu glauben wissen.
